Show season has started which means the show recaps will be posted regularly!
Almost a month ago (yes I am a little late on posting this one), we kicked off the season with a show down in Upperco, Md at An Otherwise Perfect Farm. It was a fundraiser schooling jumper show for two Rolex riders, Kate Chadderton and Daniel Clasing. Emma and Chester were the pair to make their showing debut at this event and it went well all things considered!
We went into it completely blind as to how Chester would do in a show ring/show environment. Not knowing his background we didn't know what to expect, he hopped right off the trailer though and warmed up fantastically in the outdoor ring no problem! Going straight into the indoor sight unseen and seeing all the spectators not the side, the banners on the walls, etc. Chester just got a little spacey Arabian-eque. He was just so distracted by everything else that he forgot how to jump momentarily and after a couple sticky first courses and a little change in riding style we figured out how to manage him and Emma piloted him around her last course very nicely! It was a great first show experience for him and it gave us a good idea of what to expect for the next one!
